LaMa Walks

Feels good to be lost in the right direction

A storyteller who is drenched in life’s bliss; whose tales are full of delight and adoration for each and every path he crosses, each ray of sunlight, each breeze, and each smile bestowed upon him by his fellow traveling companions. Seldom does one come across a life that simply unfolds every dream you dreamt, every choices you made, every visions you envisioned.

Every day he’s coming undone, going on a joyride

A storyteller who is drenched in life’s bliss; whose tales are full of delight and adoration for each and every path he crosses, each ray of sunlight, each breeze, and each smile bestowed upon him by his fellow traveling companions. Seldom does one come across a life that simply unfolds every dream you dreamt, every choices you made, every visions you envisioned. Living vicariously and in awe of the tales of spirits in the woods and in the mountains, Lama is the epitome of this wanderlust, free-spirited journeyman.  Inside of LaMa is a quiet, relentless drive that never quits.

Nothing

From working for somebody, to learning to unlearning, to chasing his callings, he stopped at an opportunity to travel/guide the world. Long paths and mountains have the wonderful quality of being whatever you need them to be, even if you aren’t sure what that is. He’s always wanted to start his venture into the trekking world. He was in a pit bowl of confusion about what to name his company when the opportunity finally manifested itself. Many ideas from his family and friends came knocking making him sound like a transportation company. But a friend says simply “LaMa walks,” and it had a different calming, joyride tone to it.

He is always out in the woods, up in the mountains. And he loves it!  He doesn’t mind leeches leeching on him, not showering for weeks. He tells himself that he’s not out on a vacation, nor out for a weekend. This is where he lives. “When you do that, all the other trapping of life fades away,” He reassures. “I’m a one man Army,” He calls himself. When a client emails him wondering if he’s up for the journey, he jumps right up and takes on the request. He books the tickets and prepares everything for the trip solely.  Because his career is physically demanding “I’m me, myself, and  I on this trip among the travelers.” He says.  He loves what he does. But a question always revolves around his mind, “For how long will I do this?” Nevertheless, a simple, casual email from his clients is what shakes away the doubtful question. Because he has journeyed almost every part of Nepal, thousands of tired, nerve-shaken trips begin to surface in his veins, that going to the mountains is going home. There’s passion in what he does, and that much is obvious. His passion keeps him going on sick days and on disstreful days.

The fear eating at him urges him to take on the challenge every time. He tells his traveling companions that commitment is what they should carry with them because the high altitude is an unforgiving place and they should be mentally and physically prepared for any possible outcomes.

It is in the mountains where he is filled with the zeal and fire for life. He’s found comfort in the phases of nature.
